The agreement between TCab Tech and the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) marks a significant step for the Chinese manufacturer's expansion into Southeast Asia. By focusing on the industrialised state of Selangor, the partnership aims to assess the technical and regulatory feasibility of operating the E20, a five-seat tilt-rotor aircraft. This collaboration will explore essential ground infrastructure, including vertiport locations and digital management systems, to support a future air taxi network.

For Malaysia, this move aligns with its broader ambition to become a regional hub for aerospace innovation and sustainable aviation. Integrating TCab Tech into the local ecosystem provides a pathway for technology transfer and the development of specialized maintenance and operations talent. As the E20 progresses through its certification milestones in China, this Malaysian partnership serves as a critical testbed for international operations and the harmonisation of airworthiness standards within the ASEAN region.
