GITAI is a Japanese space robotics company building robotic arms and mobile platforms intended to carry out assembly, inspection and maintenance work in orbit and on planetary surfaces, reducing the amount of crew time such tasks demand. It has demonstrated its systems in orbit and in vacuum-chamber testing, and is scaling towards larger structural assembly work. The company operates from Japan and the United States.
